Nashville-based singer-songwriter Molly Svrcina will be releasing her debut EP later this year, but the public’s first taste of her new music is the wonderfully bombastic, cinematic pop-meets-EDM track “Lover Fighter”. A vivid track that combines melodrama and sensitivity remarkably well — sounding huge but restrained — it’s the sort of song that fits in snugly alongside Ellie Goulding and Banks.
“Growing up in a family where military service runs generations deep, I have always been awe-inspired by a person’s conscious decision to offer up their life in service to others,” Svrcina says. “And on the battlefield seen or unseen, perhaps the greatest evidence of love is the choice to lay one’s life down for others. ‘Lover Fighter’ was written to illustrate this kind of radical love and honor those, who in every circumstance, fight to endure and persevere to protect.”
“Lover Fighter” will be released as a single on 11 September, and her forthcoming EP can be pre-ordered via PledgeMusic.
