Australian pop singer Nic Dalton is touring his homeland with his backing band The Gloomchasers (gotta love that name) but he’s no newbie to the rock and roll game. This collection of songs dating from the late ‘80s is an extremely rich find beginning with the glorious “Anniversary Song” and the Petty-leaning “Numbered Days” which shines with a ‘60s jangle. The Byrds-ian “Nowhere To Run” is also quite stellar, a relaxing, summery number. Dalton seems quite pleased keeping this sweet, Matthew Sweet-ish pop going on “Yo Yo Time Again” and “She’s Really Lying Now”. Probably the rowdiest number here is “Is My Time Up?” with its garage-meets-psychedelic flavoring. The best part of this album is nothing stands out because every song is so high quality like the boogie, Strokes-ish “Coming Attraction”.
