Coming off a bit like muzak and not music, DM Stith makes sure there are plenty of rich, lush orchestral touches to this EP. The opening track “Around the Lion Legs” is a perfect example of this. Bringing to mind Devendra Banhart with his quirky but credible delivery, Stith takes an almost hymnal approach on the opener. Meanwhile the title track is another ethereal snippet which is okay at best. The lengthy “Just Once” is a spacey, haunting number that is an acquired taste to be sure. The remaining numbers offer up more of the same richness, but generally this album doesn’t really do much to convince listeners what they’re listening to is magic.
