The Lolligags: Out of Perversity Join Hands

The Lolligags
Out of Perversity Join Hands
Happy Happy Birthday to Me
2008-12-02

The name is self-explanatory. The Lolligags are a dark chocolate covered dagger; featuring sinister lyrics atop synthesizer beats. Their first release was an EP called Wired on Mike Turner’s record label Happy Happy Birthday to Me (HHBTM) in late 2007. Understandably, Out of Perversity Join Hands was also released on HHBTM over a year later with five new tracks and two remixes of older ones. Though darkly-themed, “Merry Go Round”, “Sister Lover”, and “Best Behavior” are great for dancing. “All The Deer Daughters” is a slower track and while it’s not bad, Dallion’s voice sounds best over the urgency behind the faster tracks. If they stick with it, I could see the Lolligags gaining a league of electro pop devotees.
