Alexa Melo - "The Beautiful People" (audio) (premiere)

You've never heard Marilyn Manson quite like this before.

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Alexa Melo released her very impressive self-titled debut album back in June, and now, just in time for Halloween, the 20 year-old is back with a daring cover of Marilyn Manson's classic "The Beautiful People". Transforming the original tracks martial beat to something a hell of a lot sexier, Melo gives the song the Peggy Lee treatment to brilliant effect. It's one of the smartest non-metal covers of a metal song to come along in ages.

"The Beautiful People" will be released on iTunes on 30 October. In the meantime, though, listen below.

Over the Rainbow: An Interview With Herb Alpert

Music legend Herb Alpert discusses his new album, Over the Rainbow, maintaining his artistic drive, and his place in music history. "If we tried to start A&M in today's environment, we'd have no chance. I don't know if I'd get a start as a trumpet player. But I keep doing this because I'm having fun."
