Michael Leahy

I am a writer and media analyst most interested in the components which define genre, and how artists intentionally lean into or break those rules to execute the ultimate thesis of their work. While genre is synonymous with art of all forms, its relationship with film and music in particular incites the cultivation of communities and scenes which encompass the core elements of genre. I am interested in exploring and dissecting these elements through reviews and written analysis in order to have a nuanced understanding of film and music as a form of creative expression.
