Box-office glory for 'Blades' again
Will Ferrell's figure skating spoof "Blades of Glory" iced the competition for a second consecutive weekend, topping the box office with an estimated $23 million take.
But the violent B-movie homage "Grindhouse," which drew thumbs up from most critics, finished a disappointing fourth with $11.6 million, well below most prerelease estimates. A double feature directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, "Grindhouse" may have discouraged some potential patrons with its three-hour-plus running time.
Finishing second, as it did last week, was the animated Disney adventure "Meet the Robinsons," with $17 million. Ice Cube's "Are We Done Yet?" - a sequel to his slapstick family comedy "Are We There Yet?" - was third with $15 million.
