While being part of the potent Swiss black metal circle known as Jünger Tumilon, Death. Void. Terror sonically stand apart from their fellow acts. The mysterious entity does not subscribe to the folk-inclined black metal of Ungfell, or the melodic inclinations of Ateiggär. Although they are closer to the doom fascinations of Arkhaaik, their approach is more ritualistic.
Death. Void. Terror.’s discography is a journey toward their concept of the monolith, and as releases arrive, the target becomes clearer. Their 2018 To the Monolith is a record steeped in extreme ambient ritualism, closer to drone and dark ambient acts while retaining a black metal aura. Their subsequent release, 2020’s To the Monolith II, saw them take on a more solid form, while still retaining their hypnotic essence. Now, with their new EP, a herald to their upcoming third full-length, they further expose their ritualistic black metal pedigree.

Terror.’s familiar qualities. The droning sense dictates the atmosphere, crafting a harrowing and oppressive ambience through a slow-moving, determined pace. The vocal delivery shifts and turns, contorting to accommodate everything from grand Csihar-esque mystical utterings to blackened cutthroat shrieks.
Meanwhile, the guitar feedback and dissonant lead work drapes everything in pitch-black darkness, completing the harrowing essence of the ritual. So join in the ceremony, as the procession slowly unfolds from this EP into the new darkness that Death. Void. Terror. prepare to unleash.
