Dioni - “Shades of Melancholy (George Priniotakis Chillout Remix)" (video) (premiere)

The Australian blends soul and trip-hop on her sultry new single.

Australian artist Dioni released her self-titled EP this past summer, and her latest single from the record is a sultry, soul-meets-trip hop remix of her original song "Shades of Melancholy".

"Initially the song was written at a time when I was worried about my twin brother who was going through some heavy personal issues and I myself was going through a dark-ish period and we were both on opposite sides of the world," she explains. "The song then took on a wider meaning as i was disappointed with people and humanity in general and how there has been a malfunction in the moral compass."
