DRM is evil- more proof

Think that the Digital Rights Management (DRM) software on new CD’s is harmless? Think again, sucker. In addition to stopping you from only listening to your newly purchased music on certain players (which excluses your computer or maybe your car stereo, DRM may also be wrecking your computer: Sony Music CDs surreptitiously install DRM Trojan horses on PCs.

Is it possible that Sony is really that stupid and naive to let something like this happen? In addition, to pissing off customers by not letting them play back (let alone copy) their CD’s, what kind of PR is it to also trash their computers? The majors can stop wondering why millions of people still use P2P services unauthorized by them- they themselves are driving customers there with this kind of boneheaded technology. Sometimes makes you wonder if there isn’t some mole from Kazaa working there to help along their stupidity…
