Natasha – “Code Blue” (video) (premiere)

The Australian artist blends R&B and EDM for a smouldering yet pulsating new track.

Australian R&B singer Natasha is set to release her new EP Into the Sun next month, which features contributions from several heavy hitters. Produced by Rob Fusari (Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston) and featuring songwriters Jnay Sewell (Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind”) and Andrea Martin (Mary J. Blige, Leona Lewis), she has her eye on Stateside success, and if her new video for the smouldering yet pulsating “Code Blue” is any indication, it could be sooner rather than later.

“I recorded ‘Code Blue’ during my time in NYC whilst working with Rob Fusari,” Natasha says. “‘Code Blue’, is a fusion of R&B phrasing with a Radiohead inspired melodic approach, which is coupled with Rob’s EDM production.

“‘Code Blue’ references the emergency code that indicates the need for resuscitation. When you are in a situation or relationship where you never feel like enough and where no good is coming out of the situation except darkness, you are forced to re-align things or free yourself before it diminishes who you are intrinsically. ‘Code Blue’ is a part of my New Renaissance movement which, through all forms of art, calls people to move out of any darkness in their lives and back into the light.”
