SC Mira - "Free" (video) (premiere)

The Canadian indie rockers SC Mira legitimize their "death pop" label on "Free".

SC Mira has been causing quite the stir on the Canadian indie scene. From the intricate organ-based melodies and lilting synth of their music to the dark, often brooding imagery that their lyricism tends to evoke, the quintet from Manitoba have become known for having their own take on the growing dance rock genre.

They call what they do "death pop". It's a fair label they've decided to use if "Free" is any indication of what they do. Lead singer Sadye Cage brings her captivatingly distinctive vocals to a song with quirks not dissimilar to gothic cinema. The accompanying animated music video is fittingly spastic and dark.
