Secrets of the Moon – “Hole” (video) (premiere)

Traces of classic gothic music creep into the latest track by the German black metal band.

German band Secrets of the Moon are set to release their sixth full-length album SUN on 4 December. As you can hear on the new track “Hole” below, they artfully blend black metal with more gothic overtones, as touches of the Cure and Fields of the Nephilim creep into the ominous track.

“‘Hole’ describes the desolate story of humanity,” says singer/guitarist sG. “A story that is more present than ever before with the tragic attacks in Paris that have left me speechless and resigned. There is no hope. There is no god. Whatever we do, whatever we create, whatever we love, is temporary. It is a gift. The feel of the song ‘Hole’ is the opposite of ‘going on’, and the music portrays that. At least that’s what I’m feeling right now.”
