In the final track, “Time is Money”, somewhere between the lines “Time is happy ever after” and “Jesus / Jesus / Jesus / take the wheel” my eyes rolled back so far in my head that I could see the inside of my ears and noticed that they were no longer paying attention.

The original album is sprawling, ambitious, overlong, frustrating, and fascinating all at once. The three (!) discs of additional, unreleased material is fascinating for audiophiles, worthwhile for fans, and absolute manna from heaven for collectors.

Billy Corgan oversees the reissue of a rarities album stuffed with even more rarities. Rather than decry this as a sign of a rampant ego again, let's just dive in and revel in this music made with little-to-no commercial expectations.
