Wakey Wakey – “Adam & Eve” (video) (premiere)

Singer-songwriter Mike Grubbs, better known in Brooklyn circles as Wakey Wakey, has just released a new EP called Homeless Poets on the heels of his 2014 album Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said the Last Time I Saw You. He’s just put together a charming little video for the standout track “Adam & Eve”, which can be streamed below.

“My goal with this video was to capture a first person perspective of sitting alone, trying to write a love letter to the one that got away,” he says. “Starting with the line, “’’ll be Adam if you’ll be Eve… We can start it over…’ The only problem is we didn’t have any money. At all. That being said, it’s pretty amazing what you can do with a homemade light box (made of stacks of books and an empty picture frame), an iPhone, iMovie, and a day off. This video is the most DIY thing I’ve done outside of writing music.”
