The Weeping Willows Find a “Black Crow” Following Them (premiere)

The Weeping Willows’ “Black Crow” sports stunning acoustic guitar work, heavenly harmonies, and a haunting melody rooted in American gothic.

Americana, bluegrass duo the Weeping Willows won the 2021 Golden Guitar for Instrumental of the Year, and you’ll hear why on their latest single, “Black Crow”. The song sports stunning acoustic guitar work, heavenly harmonies, and a haunting melody rooted in American gothic. You might be surprised to learn that the Weeping Willows are from Australia and not Tennessee, but Americana music is now a genuine global phenomenon. Rising international acts include the Weeping Willows, Finland’s Crimson Peak, and the UK’s Lauren Housley.

The Weeping Willows are on a path to success, having won eight CMAA Golden Guitar nominations. Their previous album was 2016’s Before Darkness Comes A-Callin’, but their third studio album is on the way, hopefully just in time to tour the new songs. Having already supported Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and Iris Dement on tour, they look set to take the headline on stages this year.
