California’s Xu Xu Fang create dark and mesmerizing pysch rock music full of swirling textures, ethereal female vocals and hard-charging rhythms. It's an intoxicating and fresh sound meant for the night, either dancing at a club or chilling out at home. Xu Xu Fang's music is flat-out beautiful and essential. Tomorrow the group will release their debut album, Daylong Secret, via the Sound Ranch, following major success with a series of splendid EPs. Rooted in psych rock, Xu Xu Fang will also appeal to electronic and dance music fans as they manage to channel a Massive Attack/Portishead vibe. Highly recommended.

Xu Xu Fang tells us that they are "super excited to release our first full-length album, Daylong Secret, after many EPs, singles, remixes, etc. We released a few songs and videos over the past year or so, while working on the rest of the album, and have received an awesome response so far from places like Rolling Stone, Noisey, etc. The theme of the record is death, loss, thwarted love, and the unknown, all concepts experienced while writing and recording the album. We are lucky to have Michael Shuman from Queens of the Stone Age, and his own fantastic band, Mini Mansions, on bass and duet vocals on a bunch of the songs. The production, sounds, and songwriting are the best we've done so far, so we're ready to finally get these songs that have been patiently waiting on our hard drive, out into the world."
