Britney Spears Attacks the Paparazzi (Again) in “I Wanna Go”

Britney may not hate the Man, but she definitely hates the paparazzi. Her latest video for “I Wanna Go” is no exception; Britney welds a microphone like its a whip, knocking men to their feet while smiling, and quickly turning from sweet to sour during a press conference.

But this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Britney hate on her constant watchdogs.

1. “Lucky” – Britney laments how she might appear rich and famous, but is just a normal lonely girl on the inside.

2. “Piece of Me” – This anthem directly addresses the media machine, asking “Do you want a piece of me?”

3. “Everytime” – It appears the paparazzi has contributed to Britney’s low feelings, and the dissolution of her relationship with her boyfriend, played by Stephen Dorff. Fun Fact: In the original conception of this video, Britney died in the end.

Less obvious attacks include “Circus” and Spears’ cover of Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative”, both of which have relatively tame paparazzi-hating videos, but the lyrics of which directly attack those judging her from the outside. She also includes a subtle hint at the obsessive nature of her following in “Overprotected” by dancing in a room with pictures of herself and phrases like “Britney mania!”

So if you have to take bets on what Britney will do with her next video, hating on the paparazzi is a safe one.
