Red Mass: Red Mass EP

Picture yourself in a shitty, run-down apartment. Beer flows maliciously. There isn’t a soul who isn’t dripping in sweat. The drinking continues without restraint or remorse. Inevitably, bad things will happen, but it’ll feel so good. Does this sound like something you’d want to be a part of? If you can’t, you might as well hear the soundtrack. Red Mass the debut EP from Montreal’s Roy Vucino (Who plays under the Red Mass mask) is snotty garage punk of the finest pedigree. Aggresive and unrelenting, the record scrapes at the underbelly of society and comes out with seven punishing tracks. Filled with hooks that harness the urgency of a caged tiger, Red Mass throws in hints of spaced-out psychedelia for good measure. Like any good party, the EP packs a punch and is memorable. Blink and you might miss it. Listen at your own risk, but keep a cold beer handy, too.
