Chika Jenkins

Chika Jenkins was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She holds a BA in philosophy from Brown University, an MA in music history from Columbia University, and a professional culinary certificate with highest honors from the Institute of Culinary Education. An avid pianist, she also holds an MM (master of performance) in piano with honors from New England Conservatory of Music, and her performances have earned her numerous awards and honorable mentions both in the US and abroad. She currently works as a chef de partie at a Michelin-recommended French restaurant in New York City, and also is a contributor to Be Our Guest: World Entertaining Through History and Culture, to be published in 2009 by Greenwood Press. She lives in New York City with her husband.
